In our employment teams around the country, the advice that we were giving over lockdown was dynamic and fast moving, dealing with issues like restructuring and redundancies, business shutdowns, pay obligations during the lockdown and the application of government support packages like the Wage Subsidy.
As the dust settles on the lockdown, the complicated issues that employers faced at the time are beginning to be litigated. It has been fascinating to see the cases start to move through the Employment Relations Authority, and in turn see the judicial consideration of many of the same issues we were dealing with.
