Duncan Cotterill

2+ years qualified – Christchurch based (or open to other locations)

With five offices across New Zealand, 250+ employees and 150+ lawyers, Duncan Cotterill has grown to become one of the largest law firms in the country.  We have a strong set of values and we are totally committed to working alongside our clients to help them achieve their goals. Our people are recommended in leading global rankings such as Chambers Global and the Legal 500, and we are a signatory to the Gender Equality Charter.

We’re looking for a talented construction solicitor to take up the legal challenges in a busy construction practice. You will ideally have experience in the use of standard commercial and residential construction contracts, subcontracts, warranties, construction bonds, consultant agreements and other construction-related documentation, procurement and tender preparation and review, property development, construction and development financing, the application of the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and a knowledge of or involvement in construction disputes.

Key to your success will be your proven track record of experience, passion for construction and property, commercial attitude, initiative, and excellent communication skills. You’ll be highly motivated with a strong work ethic of course.

This is a role where you will be provided with excellent mentoring and development opportunities to further grow your career. We’ll provide you with work that is stimulating and interesting, in an energetic, confident, and supportive culture.

Whilst this position is reporting to a Christchurch partner, we are open to hear from anyone who is interested in remote working opportunities across New Zealand.

We can’t think of a better firm for an enterprising lawyer to consider joining.
